This is an early morning shot taken on a clear September morning in St Ives, Cornwall. The sun is just rising and I spotted this dog on the beach looking out on to the bay. It belonged to one of the families in the holiday cottages nearby, but the way the sun casts shadows across the beach makes the shot. -
This shot was taken in the Swiss Alps on the footpath close to the Kleine Scheidegg mountain pass. It was a sunny day in June and shows some of the amazing scenery in the are. -
Shot from the hills above the city at Mont Juic, this is a panoramic view of Barcelona. I like the detail on this one as it contrasts the city below with the relative open spaces higher up. -
This Cornwall town has a row of beach huts of varying colours. I wanted to get them lined up to show off the symmetry in what was an early morning shot. -
Known locally as The Thing with the Ring, the strands of metal stand out against the dark sky and make for an interesting contrast. -
This is a photo of Birmigham’s big wheel reflected in the windows of the International Convention Centre. Bit experimental, but I like the effect. -
This is a close up shot of a canopy of leaves growing on the walls outside a cafe in Leicestershire, it as was bright day and the sun shining through added colour to the shot. -
I spotted this at a outdoor exhibition and again the close up nature of the photo creates something quite different. The bright green also makes this a striking shot I think. -
A close up shot of a statue in south west England, I like the colours here and the flow of the lines within the wood. -
This was take from a boat in the sea around Llandudno, it gives a view of the Great Orme, the side that faces away from the town, The clouds and trails were unusual that day and this photo was taken using a red filter. -
A different shot and one taken close up of the glass globes that hang from the ceiling inside the building. The patterns and colours produce this interesting effect. -
A typical Greek village scene, table and chairs left outside for when the locals decide it’s mealtime. Taken in bright sunshine using a blue filter. -
Taken on the Greek coast near Thessaloniki with a long lens. The locals leave their boats tied up in the bay and make good photos in the still waters. -
This was taken in a wheatfield in Staffordshire on the longest day of the year with the sun going down close to 10pm. The light was superb and made for the picture I was looking for. -
This is close to Tromso in the far north of Norway. It is a small fishing village set among the snowy landscape. The clear water made for some nice reflections. -

-
A close up shot taken at Bodnant Gardens, North Wales, the red hue of the bark takes on a different appearance when viewed at close quarters. -
A shot taken in North Wales In a poppy field, I wanted to do something different with it so I converted it to a sepia tone. -
A shot of the less sandy beaches on the northern Cornwall coastline. This was taken above the cliffs west of Newquay. -

-
There is colour around even during a snowy winter whiteout. These berries and twigs provided an ideal contrast to the icy weather on this day. -
This was taken a few years back in Birmingham when there was a wicker model of a runner in the grounds outside the city Cathedral. It contrasts nicely with the background of trees. -
This is taken from the Rutland Belle ferry on Rutland Water and shows Normanton Church which is the area’s most famous landscape. I was a sunny day so the light and water combined perfectly.
